The UTME organizing body, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has disclosed a list of prohibited items that cannot be brought into the test center for the 2023 UTME. The restricted items will be disallowed entry into the examination venue, scheduled for April 25th, 2023. Both exam-takers and personnel are forbidden from carrying these disallowed items into the examination area.
The prohibited items are;
- Mobile Phones Or Similar Electronic Devices,
- Wrist Watches,
- Spy Reading Glasses,
- Electronic Calculators or Devices with Similar Functionality,
- Pen/Biro,
- USB,
- CD,
- Books or Other Reading/Writing Material,
- Fez caps
- Cameras,
- Recorders,
- Microphones,
- Ink/Pen Readers,
- Earphones,
- Smart Rings/Jewellery,
- Smart Contact Lenses,
- Hard Disks or Similar Storage Devices.
- Smart Buttons And Bluetooth Devices.
For candidates requiring prescription eyewear due to vision difficulties, examination officials will closely examine the glasses. If it is concluded that the item may undermine the examination’s integrity, the official will confiscate it. Similarly, any staff member found possessing such items will be held accountable for examination misconduct, and appropriate disciplinary measures will be enforced.
All candidates participating in the examination, scheduled for April 25th through May 3rd, are advised to avoid bringing any of the prohibited items listed above to the test center.
If you are a candidate with vision impairments and need to wear glasses during the exam, ensure that they are prescription glasses; otherwise, you will not be permitted to wear them inside the examination hall.
