JAMB has declared a one-week extension for the ongoing 2023 Direct Entry (DE) registration process.
Initially set to conclude on April 20, the registration deadline will now be extended from Friday, April 21, 2023. This announcement followed a management meeting, with the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, sharing the news in a statement.
Benjamin indicated that the DE registration, which began on Monday, March 20, 2023, would be extended for a week starting from April 21, 2023. The extension aims to accommodate candidates holding Cambridge A/Level certificates who have not yet registered within the initial deadline.
He further explained that the British Council is collaborating with JAMB to integrate Cambridge A/Level certificates into the verification process. Consequently, the Council will provide a verification portal for a smooth verification of Cambridge Certificates, just like other A/Level certificate categories. This collaboration led the Board to revise its earlier decision to exclude Cambridge certificates from DE registration.
JAMB has instructed individuals with Cambridge Certificates to register for the 2023 DE at their nearest JAMB office.
However, the board’s spokesperson clarified that this adjustment does not apply to candidates awaiting Cambridge Certificates, as “Awaiting Results” will not be accepted.
The modification of the DE registration process was prompted by the discovery of numerous falsifications of A/Level results.
